My '87 Ford Ranger

Originally purchased in October of '95, this truck has undergone extensive modifications. I bought the truck at my workplace, Townsend Ford in MA. The truck looked familiar and, come to find out, it was! I had worked at another dealership and remembered the truck being bought there new in '87. It wasn't much to look at when I first got it - to quote my wife, "Are you sure you want this??!!" Women sometimes don't see the tremendous potential of a diamond in the rough!! Because the radio worked, she let me keep it!

Okay, so it didn't look the greatest, with gray primer spots all over it, but it was destined for greatness. My objective was to build a nice-looking truck that could be fun as well as functional. I took a slow approach at first, doing the mechanical things that an 8 year old unit needs, tie rods, brakes, etc. After about a year, it was time for a change. We saved our pennies and undertook an expensive paint project. The result was a well-running, beautifully painted daily driver, not a trailer queen. The next step is a SVO 5.0 V-8 conversion. At 300 h.p. that ought to move the "pretty little truck" pretty well. So if you need a tow out of the woods or you need to move furniture, don't be afraid to ask. It's a truck, damn it and will always be used as one!!!!!!
