Looking at a `79 parts van to salvage parts off of for our `72.

I already know the front doors will swap, but how about the rear doors and bumpers? TIA

All doors will work, rear bumper with brackets no problem, front not so much...

Looking at the front suspension on these two G20 Vans, it looks like I can swap all the `79 pieces (upper & lower control arms, spindles, disc brakes, shocks, steering linkages, tie rod ends, sway bar...etc.) on the `72. I think the only real difference is how the brake lines are run. I can just use the `72 set up as is.

Am I correct? Anybody done this? The `79 has all new control arm and sway bar bushings.

Thanks for any tips. PB2

The `79 inner shaft of the lower control arm is much larger than the `72. So the mounting holes for the U bolts in the `72 cross support for inner lower shaft are too close together. About 1/2" difference. Could modify the mounting points and make it work as far as I can tell.

Sway bar bushings are the same........
