If u look at the pics ,u will see on each side the tires sit in about "4 .the tires should be out flush to the flairs on each sides.I do not want to change the TUBES again. time for a NEW rear, a FORD "9 !!

Just to let you know a Mid Ford Van rear (69 to 74) is the same with as an Early 3rd Gen Chevy rear........

NOT the same rear end......the same measurement distance distance from drum to drum.(with/lenth)
spring perches shock mounts bolt pattern of the axles are all different.....
In your case all of that needs to be changed any ways......
