Alrighty ,
todays venture begins around 12:30 I ready the van for more choppin fun .
First Bob and i start off by drilling out more welds on all the door upper corners .
We need the brace behind the upper corners in 100% good shape .

Then the van is marked up with all it's cut lines in the rear , sides , and roof .

Then we make the cuts .

Now i have a convertible Van LOL : )

Here's how i chose to do my bracing . You need to keep the van from caving in on it's self while working on it . Your goal is to keep it from going side to side and stay square .

A new toy ....

stay tuned as tomorrow we are laying the roof down ... yay

Lots of progress today ! Although the day started off slow we begain around 12:30 and ended at 6:00 .
Bob and i started cleaning the areas to be cut removing paint and seam seal . Munz and Chuck stop over to check things out and lend a hand . It's awesome when your friends stop over and get involved . It's a good thing to they helped hold the sides up while making the center cuts .
The side rails where cut and flared out .

Then cuts are made in the main rails .

The rears get the most takin out .

The Center braces are cut and the roof is laid down , it took two times to line it up and figure out what else needed a trim to line it up better .
Now it's starting to come together and im getting more excited .
I'm diggin the way it's comin out .

At this point there is four days of work into the van .
I'm droolin already .
