Just an idea, but while your at it, why not weld and fill the seams? would look real nice all smoothed out. Great work keep it up!

no progress for the last few days, gettin ready to go to vanners for vanners in Ocala, decided to take the Astro since i think a wheel bearing in the Dodge is bad and dont want to risk it. Plus its waaayyy too cold to be doing work outside.

ok, i have a question. Is the roof of the newer dodge vans the same as mine? I found a hi-top off of a 95-96? model and want it for mine. Also are the wheel well openings the same? Id like to yank the running boards off and use them on mine as well.

Yes roofs are the same.
Wheel openings are the same on the rear, but not the front. Technically the running boards will fit your 87, but the part of the boards that go over the front wheelwell will not extend all the way around your front wheelwell. If you notice on the 94-up Dodges the front bumper extends back and basically "cuts" the radius of the front wheel openings in half.
I assume you're referring to the fiberglass running boards.

Yhat would be a nice way to not have to deal with the rust. I would put on on Big Read if I could find one at the right price that did not look like an upside down boat or have a bunch of windows in it........

minor crap dealt with today. Replaced passenger side wheel bearings. Gotta wait for the Mrs to get home so she can help me bleed the brakes and then i can test it out. hopefully that solves the god awful roaring noise above 30mph. next up is exhaust manifold gasket
