Can't wait to see this van out of the booth. Love the 70's theme idea.

Thanks guys for the great comments.
Well the van is at the custom shop sucking my money tree dry and now I have to think of the interior. Which we do ourselves!!!
The family and I went down to the local fabric warehouse. They have just about everything for and from the early 1900's up.
So I found the 60's/70's section and was just over whelmed with what they have. I thought before going I had the interior planned. OH no going there just threw my interior into all different directions.
So I thought I would post some pics of the front running candidates to see what you think. You know how it goes, the tackier the fabric the more 70's it looks.
So here are pics of fabric for trim and rear seating, gorilla fur for partial top around sunroof and I didn't get the pics of the simulated wood grain vinyl for the table. There was a lot more that I didn't take pics of. Some of those just might make it into the interior. Who knows!!
Well here they are, let me know if they are 70's enough;

This is really red. Don't know why it looks pinkish. Disregard the pink one. It didn't make it.

Nice orange velvet

That's great.I wish, we had something like that over here in Germany.

Nearling nothing available, and if you wish something special like that material which looks like from the insiede of a UH1D you have to find a fitting material and than sew it by yourself :-(

Looks pretty sad. Hopefully by next week I will be able to post it wearing its first coat of paint.

Sorry I really don't care for any of them.....

Paneling and carpet where used more in the 70's

You really do not have to use the loud so called 70's materials to make your van period correct.....

Thanks guys, my son likes the orange gorilla fur the best too!

c1run1 Thanks! I know these guys are doing the correct steps to a great finish. They take serious pride in their work and it shows!!! I just can't wait til it's painted and I have it back.

Goose111; maybe we can send care packages of materials.

wookee; I have the shag carpet and paneling. I just wanted material for the bench seating and miscellaneous trim around the van. Also for the roof. I have seen a lot of 70's vans with the gorilla fur around the front and sunroof areas. Some vans I have seen in the 70's mags are really out there!! A little to far for my taste too!! The van is going to be done with taste be it 70's taste. Taste never the less. I have seen a lot of early 70's vans wearing material like this, I do agree it has to be used sparingly, but I assure it will be done right. My wife will make sure of that.
Here is what I have so far;

Burgundy/red shag
