Almost all of my 1700+ posts have had the same subject. Usually it's something like, "7x Dodge in USA". I've searched thousands of vans looking for that perfect Dodge. Since I have next to no experience working on cars, the perfect van for me is as close to turn-key as possible.

Well, I recently threw all that out the window and picked up a "needs work" 75 Dodge B200 shorty with a 318 automatic:

Don't let the pic fool you. It's a 15 foot (at best), cheapy paint job on there. All the doors have rust issues to varying degrees. I'm sure the paint is hiding a few surprises too.

But before I get to the body, the brakes need work and the steering needs to be tightened up.

Here's what it looked like originally. Not sure what the gizmo behind the driver door was.

I've removed the remaining paneling and all the old insulation. I took out the non-working dealer installed AC, leaving me with the huge hole in the dash. But it's a start. And I figure I can keep the search going while I continue working on this one.

Congratulations!!!!! Streetvan Fan, and don't be affraid of doing the work on it ether. The bolts that are hard to get to, come out, and the easy ones snap off in your hands. But just like life, you work your way through it.Just Remeber you fell down a couple times before you learned how to walk. Your going to hate it, but love your van more with putting your hands on it. Good luck with the work, use common sense and be safe doing it. Vanago

Chances are, since I can't really see the "gizmo" very well, that on that model year it may be an alarm turner oner and turner offer. If it has what looks like a key slot then that's probably what it is. Early alarms didn't have key fobs to just push a button.
