I went to see this http://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/2619451400.html truck yesterday. Very nicely kept, no rust, two back winders. If it was a red Dodge I would have bought it on the spot, instead I'm sleeping on it. What do you think of the truck?

Well I'm a Chevy guy, So I absolutely love this van!
I think this seller is a vanner, and may also be a member on these boards. Did you happen to mention vannin.com when you talked to him? He may be willing to make a deal for another vanner. If it is at all possible for you to get this van, I would say go for it!
The rear door windows could be tinted, and a set of louvers would cover them up nicely. Could even be painted to match the van.
The only thing that would hold me back is the 305. Don't get me wrong, it is a very durable and dependable engine. But as far as performance goes, it just can't compare to the 350 in my opinion.
As far as I know this van doesn't need anything. But just saying if it did, the comparable parts for the same year Dodge van would be almost twice as much.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Hope to see down the road someday. chevy

hey - another 'local' guy...!

that '77 Chevy was at Flamingo Fest this year - it's in great shape, and the folks weren't completely sure on selling it then... i know if i had any money close to that i would make an offer... the price is a little high, but cash is cash...

i'd jump on it...

i was on Rochester's CL when i was at work earlier - look up 'cars & trucks by owner' and search for van... there were a couple other decent chevy's...

Its a pretty truck, 6500 does seem a little steep, but probably worth it for a solid survivor not needing much work.
