road trip test

sunday i took my '71 chevy shorty to its first mountain bike race. only had 'er for a month or so, and she's been refusing to idle for the last week or two. i tried all the easy fixes which made no difference. then it just fixed itself, so it seemed like a good chance for a test to see how it would do on the road. so i enlisted two friends (to help push) loaded the bikes, gear, and food and drove 300 miles round trip to state finals for our high school mountain bike league. she never missed a beat, got 14.5 mpg driving 60-65 and rattled and squeaked so much that now we are all deaf...i love it! http://s964.photobucket.com/albums/ae124...nt=P5200098.jpghttp://s964.photobucket.com/albums/ae124...nt=P5200100.jpg

It's great that you made it! Is that a teardrop trailer!! the teardrop was given to me by my neighbor, been sitting in their garage since 1970. just needs tires and 12 volt bulbs...i cant wait to take the van and trailer out together! btw, how i post my pics like that?
