For many years I dreamed of such a concept. Similarly, my plan used a smaller vehicle with several interchangeable trailers. The idea was that you would have a van, pickup, flatbed, etc. The options were limitless. But I only built it in my head...

I like the idea but that is f-ing horrible. How about a cutaway with different attachments. Its like a working version of the gadgetmobile but no where near as cool.
