Gate opens at 8am on Friday September the 2nd
No early Arrivals!

Plenty of flat grounds
Water & Electric
Flush toilets

Adult and Kids games
Custom Van show
Live Bands

I talked to my club last night, And we are definitely going to Vandango.

So I was sticking my SS10 dash plaque on my display board. And I came to a realization...

THIS WILL BE MY 100th VAN RUN!!!

(Not including vanner party's and such)

Well then we get to celebrate your 100th. What kind of party do you have planned?

No plans as of yet, But I'll talk to the club this weekend and see what we can up with.

I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Yes, we did Butler last year, so this year is Vandango!

After speaking with Pat, Rooster, Johnny O and Mike at the Berlin show last weekend, God willing, Cruisin' Photography will be covering the event for CT Cruise News.

This run is still going on with the hurricane coming through and all?

I am waiting to hear as well. My understanding is that Brooklyn has no power but I cannot confirm. Just got ours back at work!

As soon as anyone hears please let us all know.

We have spoken to the fairgrounds and they expect to have power back tomorrow so VANDANGO WILL GO ON AS PLANNED.

I expect to see everyone from New England and abroad this weekend! It is a Hurricane follow up weekend! If you still don't have power by the weekend that will suck but just think you can take a shower and have a relaxing weekend in Brooklyn, CT. Your van/truck, a cooler, bag of ice, some basic food and the rest will happen! Oh I forgot something to drink! Staying hydrated is important.

Great grounds and a fun time as always by Starlight and crew!

We just received word that power has been restored at the Brooklyn Fairgrounds so we hope to see you all there.

That's great! We'll be heading up from Jersey on Friday. Are there any roads that we should avoid as far as being damaged from the storm?

Can anyone confirm what time the gate will open?

According to the facebook page, the gates will open at 8am.

I think that's what the flyer said too. I also think it said no early arrivals.

The van is gassed up and loaded and we will see you all there in the morning! Starlite needs everyone's support so I hope to see a great turnout!

We'll be there for dinner!

What a great way to end my ten day tour of New England!

I believe the final number was 118 trucks through the gate. I was happy to see some new vanners (puppies) at the run. Including another vannin.com member Al.

The weather was beautiful all weekend, and the rain held off till we were on our way home. You know how we hate to pack in the rain
We celebrated my 100th van run on Saturday night with two buckets and a session of 'lemon drops till ya drop' Thanks for all for the 'my first' stories and good hart'd ribbing I received.

Here are the results from the van show:
1st place Chevy- ME!
2nd place Chevy- Bryce (loonie toon/rock pile)

1st place Dodge- George (loonie toon)
2nd place Dodge- Timmy (disfunctional)

1st place Ford- Joe (central ct.)
2st place Ford- Pete (spindle city)

And Best Of Show also went to Joe for his Never Ending Story van.
There were several more awards but I couldn't remember them all.
Congratulations to all the winners!

Had a GREAT time as expected. Traffic on the way up sucked, but ride home wasn't too bad.

Thanks to all of the hosts and helpers. We shared the grounds with all the helpers cleaning up from the hurricane, but there were no issues that I heard of. All in all a great weekend with great people and great vans. The awards were SWEET too. Home made and very classy! My pics, prolly tomorrow, as I had to leave camera home for first day of school
