Michael is a financial analyst at Vannin Capital, working closely with the managing directors and the investment team to build case models for review by the investment committee to consider for funding.
Prior to taking up his role with Vannin, Michael worked for 10 years in the financial services industry, rising from trainee portfolio manager to head of investment and director of a boutique private wealth management firm, licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority. Tasks in his previous position included trading futures in a systematically managed macro hedge fund as well as day-to-day discretionary portfolio management. Typically the portfolios Michael managed were invested across multiple asset classes including equities, bonds, commodities, property and hedge funds, therefore his analyst experience is widespread.
During his studies, Michael attended the University of Leeds where he attained a BA in Economics, before latterly heading to Sheffield Hallam University to complete his Masters in Property Appraisal and Management. Subsequently, during his earlier career, he undertook a professional qualification and became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2013.
