I was thinking about your slider (your right the slider door is about 70's as you can get) but the only option you have to keep it and clear that tire is a long ass door extender and then the weight might be a problem so maybe you could slide a fiber

How about something like tail lights from a 75 Charger or 77/78 Cordoba? The Charger lights would look trick to wrap around the corners of the van, but would take some extra metal work.
