Make sure you have your passports though, so you can re-enter your own country ...There is a huge wait on both sides for the applications, and the extension in the USA side from January is only good to March and April so far.....

It is the US Government dictating to YOU as well as everyone else, what they need to leave your own country and then try and get home , you need a PASSPORT, or other secure docuement....This applies to any American Citizen !!!!

For all those that say screw it, we live in a free country, we don't need " No Stinking Passports " to go home, I have 2 bedrooms, and a big back yard available for rent, for really reasonable rates.....

Sorry all The bad news is ...If you want to leave your own country, without a passport, you can't..

The good news is, that if you want to go to a really sunny part of the world, with beautiful beaches, all you have to do is sign up with the National Guard, they will send you to real Hot Spots !!

Sorry guys, I am not trying to scare you, but advising you to apply for Passports now !!!!! My own American Cousin just had to cancel his wedding in Japan, because his Fiance did not have a passport, and the honeymoon would have lasted 2-4 months, while the application was in the line up...., and they could actually fly home. Please note that you need a PASSPORT now to return by Sea and Air to the USA. The JAnuary and extended date applys to anyone driving home...
