What a fiasco! Got an email from the place I ordered the doghouse gasket from saying the part is discontinued from Chrysler and not available. I called my local dealer in hopes they had one sitting on the shelf...no dice. They even checked dealer inventories across the country....nothing.
I went to Arizona Parts and searched their database and found that they had one in stock. I called and the jackass proceeded to tell me he was going to keep it for himself. He told me he would give me the superceded part number (which I already had), then changed his mind and said no. I told him he ought to take the gasket off his database then. Jerkoff. He thought he was going to pull a fast on me by not giving me the new number, BUT he had the old part number listed on his website. I searched that number, and low and behold, some place down in Florida had it. I called and talked to a really nice feller who is sending me the gasket!!! Geezy peezy.

Hot Rod flat black with flames. Brian is going to have one of his "street rod" guys lay out the flames for me. Future plans is to have Matchstick do some pinstriping at an evant. Maybe next years Nats. Coool! Bet that it's gonna bee sweet.  Keep up the good work, Nate.

I love finding treasure! Well, not really actual treasure, but parts I didn't know I had. I found a set of brackets sitting on a shelf in my basement that I had bought to mount a front sway bar. I put a rear bar on a few years ago so I'm looking forward to seeing how well this van will handle after I add the front. I found that PST has the best price so far for the ADDCO 1-1/4" front sway bar kit. I found some other goodie sitting on that shelf too, like a set of full-size Street Van stickers that I had gotten from Johnny O. Yes..they will be going on this van. An '85 Street Van? No way! Way!

Got my new doghouse gasket in. This thing has a date on the label of 5/31/78, but the rubber is still soft and pliable.

WOW! May 31 /78,let me see on that date Red Sox 3 games over Yankees,and we all know what happened that year.  A's 1/2 over Royals,Cubs 1/2 over Expos, Giants 1 1/2 over Reds.
