I guess...the price tag isn't good news, but at least I know the job will be done right. This shop does good work.

I am 1-for-2 in carb rebuilding success rate... have no idea what I did wrong on my second QJet... it's not easy!
so this work isn't covered by their warranty?

Just the engine itself and the labor to install it. The carburetor is a reman that I put on previously.

Nate, just out of curiosity, where did the reman carbs come from that you had problems with?
Hope this shop has a different source. I'm looking forward to seeing your van one of these days - gotta get that puppy running right!
Clear skies!

RB is done and I'll pick it up after work. I bought the reman from that place in Florida called Guaranteed Carbs and previously had never a problem with the carbs I bought from them. They have a lifetime warranty on workmanship...not dirt getting into the carb (I put a new filter on too!). Oh well...I still have the rebuild kit coming from Jeg's so I'll have an extry. I'll chuck the old carb unless somebody wants it as a backup. It's a Holley 2280 non-feedback carb.
No problemos Wookee. I'm off next Friday...maybe I can make my way over to your place.
