Had to replace all belts and all but one belt did not fit. so have no PS or air pump or AC. i think the the issue is the after market air but I do not see why. over the winter the air pump will be coming off and i would like to switch to a one belt setup if i can any help would be great. i do not have the old belts. Just wish when I goto part store and get a part I just want it to fit.

Nope thats the one i find everywhere I have all V belts. and some where along the lines something was changed the only belt that fits is the alt belt I am going to order belts online by size but it will suck if a belt breaks and i am stuck becouse I have no idea what belts to order..

So anyone have a 4.9 Ford with v belts.

Was an air pump or A/C unit removed ? What I do is is use a rope/string with a slip knot. Place it over the pulleys, draw it tight, then cut it, lay it out and measure it. Then take the measurement to the parts store smile

Nothing ws removed I did get belts to fit it just would be nice that if a breakdown on the road I can get the belt without having to measure I did get them and wrote the number down in a book that will stay in the van.

Hey Chris:

Contact me so I can give you a diagram I scanned from my shop manual. I have a 1983 E-100 with a 4.9L. It probably is the same. My e-mail address is: oldspiker@earthlink.net

Take it easy. Arnie
