This is a true back yard project.Back yard is not meant in a bad way.The work that is being done in this back yard rivals allot of work that has been done in so called professional shops.
I like to use the saying "can't means won't".
Joe is a very good example of a vanner who has not said I can't in this build.Instead he has figured out How to solve what ever problem he has came up against.....

I really hope this thread and this build inspires other vanners to step out of there comfort zone and take on a project that they really want to do...

Wow Joe (Wookee)

Until now!! That van you are building is turning out so coooool that I might step out, only baby steps at first like put a gull wing side door and go from there. Nothing to rad. I would have like to have seen your van going back to original, but I rather see what you are doing to it now then see it rust away and be sent to the wrecking yard. Too many vans are heading that way. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see it finished.
Richard

Richard , i hear ya , i keep some things stock how ever this needed much attention in the areas that was upgraded making this a perfict van for the job plus with the paint job it's getting it only made sence to use a street van . I know the Bvan guys are not to happy . But I don't think they had much faith in me from the begining thinking it was not going to be done right and end up in the scrap yard .
And thank you for your support .

Bob stopped over and got my ass off the couch we went out back and took the donor roof apart .

Then some more of the sides where trimmed off and we removed the original center braces .
Once this was done we test fit the roof skin .

Back off again for more trim work , the roof skin is centered and the van is backed out for pics .

Test fitting me in the Van ..LOL

Looks great buddy! what van are ya bringing to the Nats?
