I was just informed that people are not allowed to reply here in a global anouncement so I'll make a new normal thread in the general discussion area.

I know this thread is pretty old, but if you are still interested in making something I'd be happy to volunteer my services. I do a bit of programming, and it wouldn't be very hard to make a "user registry" that could track personal info people may want to share, info on their van(s), picture uploading and hosting, etc etc. Just let me know if you are interested.

I once contemplated doing a Facebook'ish site where you'd create profiles for the vans instead of people.
Never got around to actually doing it tho

i'm all for creating a history type list of van clubs/vanners that would include their club history and photos of themselves and their vans, kind of a family tree of sorts, i would be willing to add what info i can gather from my parents but i know most of these people are out of the scene and wouldn't want too much personal info out there.

There are lots of databases out there, but most fall into disrepair...and are lost. Raoul had his Vanner Yearbook, and Cricket used to put out a Cyber Vanners guide. Virtual was doing a history of vanning.....it is, and will be a huge job to reconstruct all the information....

And keeping it up to date with ever changing email addresses and telephone numbers.....well.....

I think we have a good start here...On Van domain I can send an email to all members...if that were possible here, it would be a start.
