Hey , it's your money, Personally I would keep it up to date. I think the Cassette and eight track days are done and getting good quality tunes in those formats are like searching for hen's teeth, and I am an older dude and old school as they come But I am a sound freak, pushing 60 with both hands and if it's too loud you are too old, type of guy. I love Rock and roll and as loud as my system will allow good sound quality, but i push the envelope. and the cassette and eight track are ...well just not there any more. BUT IT IS your money, spend it where you like, Just enjoy it ! Yeah I like it loud too, I'll test it out first and if I don't like what I hear I'll re sell to someone who wants it. Mark......let us know how it sounds soon, looking forward to finding out

First that is a nice radio. I like the wood grain face. Nice score!!! Did you say amp. I know these are old and outdated, but if you want the authentic sound of the 70's these need to be run. I have 8 and of course 8-tracks will be needed . This is only about 10% of the ones I have buying and refurbishing. And they play great!!! Of course the 70's speakers too have to be from the era. I am working on those. Have several sets! Any one can have a modern set up, but it takes a true die hard to have an original set up. And by looking at your van and avatar, you are a true 70' die hard.

First; Thanks Pete, Second that is a nice looking radio lostinthe70eees
Third; MrHoney, what is with the hatred. I mean there is a lot that could be said about mp3, but it is personal choice to use or not. If you like compressed, flatten dynamic range then by all means listen to it. I personal like the old analog LP with uncompressed, full dynamic range. I have Quad and stereo reel to reels, Quad and stereo 8 tracks and stereo cass. I have enjoyed all for many years. Yes they do have problems and limitations just like anything else, but to come out and condemn the old tech with "F" this and they suck. I mean you are entitled to your opinion, that is what so great about this country, but some like me still like to use the old gear. Whether for sound, nostalgia or just for fun! I personal would like to hear how you came to the conclusion you did! Heck if we though old tech was garbage then why do most of us drive and fix up old vans and cars. They aren't like new ones yet we drive, build, and, enjoy them even with all their faults!!!
Richard

What makes you say that? I have been called many things before but not that. Sounds cool though!!!! I am just your average guy trying to keep the 70's vannin' craze a live and as authentic as possible. By the way Joe your van is looking top notch. The Street van emblems look great, fits with the color scheme perfectly!!!!!!! Richard
