ok! I'm on the grounds and did some testing with the nats cam last night, and so far so good.
I'm going to try and use tinychat for as much of it as I can, which is the default vannin video chat channel.

as of right now there is no set schedule, the cam will run from when I turn it on in the morning for as long as I can run it at night.

I'm not sure yet about doing a mobile cam around the grounds, cell service is twitchy. not able to get a solid data connection that I need to run the cam, but I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for doing what you can to bring the Nats to those of us that wont be able to make it. I followed you guys up until the Ford broke down during the caravan. It was a lot of fun to have on my laptop in the background while I worked on my van.

Next yr a camera mounted to a RC van to cruise camp & greet people...

I dont know the cost but I think we have a electronics's expert on here somewhere...

Hmmm.....I like that idea. Will get one of my R/C's working better and see if a robo cam can be come up with. That would be cool.

I think I'm gonna take the money I would have spent on gas and "invest" in my old Ford, or put it toward some new wheels for Penny's GMC.

Opening ceremonies for the 40th National Truck-In in less than 30 minutes, live from Elkhorn Wi. ! For the many of us unable to go this year it is a small taste of what's going on. But nothing even comes close to actually being there. Once again thanks to Astro for doing this, it's a lot of work that he pretty much does all on his own.

The van show is today so I would imagine some pictures will be posted soon. But with the less than perfect signal, posting pictures can be a real time consuming pain. But keep an eye on the Nats Cam here as Astro did a full tour of the van show with the camera last year.

I don’t want to be the Tin Foil Hat type BUT.... As cool as that idea might be …. I would not be to appreciative of someone coming into my camp and broadcasting a live feed of me over the public internet. As neat as the technology is, I'm just not comfortable with all that, and I purposely avoid the cameras (if I know where they are). IMO There should be a designated area for this stuff, clearly marked so people know they are being streamed. Just my 2 cents.

In all fairness, I did not read the fine print on the waiver I signed at the last NATS. Maybe there was a clause in there and I've already agreed to be recorded/photographed/streamed etc.

Don't misunderstand me, I think the stream is cool man. I've been watching it and taking screen shots of people I know, lol. (Kinda fun.) The trans swap coverage was a good idea.

I'm just saying that going into peoples camps seems like a bit much.

An RC van with a cam inside and a sign on top with saying LIVE FEED & the Tinychat logo on it so everybody know whats up....

It wasnt meant to go into anybodies personal camp....

Cause I darn sure dont want to see you changing your shorts....

In public and public view are the same thing, if it's a locker/bath room or some other private area where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy then the photographer has a problem or if they are photographing for commercial gain.

Thats what I was asking taking pics of vans not people . If you ask people to take a picture of the van I assume anything around would be ok ?
