I don't remember if it was here or some place else but I remember reading about a device that plugged in to your OBD2 port and then you could pick up to 4 parameters for it to display in real time.

It is not just a regular code reader although this thing would read codes.

It was about the size of an I pad if I remember right. They sold a mounting kit so you could leave it hooked up all the time.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anyone have one?

I know Google is my friend but I wanted so see if there was one of these some one had some experience with.

Thanks.

They make one for cell phones as well "There's an app for that". What sort of parameters are you looking for in particular? There are a few out there I don't know if they're any good but here's a couple links, one of the apps is called "Torque" but I've never tried any of them, my cars have always been too old.

There are others out there too, like banks, bully dog, superchips, they're the more high dollar tuner programmers and they do solely programming and diagnostics and on the fly reading of all your connected engine parameters,of course with the right unit. Transmission, oil temps, water pressure, fuel pressure. Anything that your OBD II is connected.

Hope this help a little bit good luck

There's an "app" to connect your iPad or other tablet directly to your OBD2 output. All you need is the connector and the app... Same deal for me, none of my vehicles ever had OBD2, and probably never will....

I don't have an iPad. There is an app for my phone but since I use my phone as my GPS it is already confusing when I get a call while driving. I don't want to make it worse.

Scangauge was the one I was thinking of.
Scan Gauge
I have found a different one called Ultra Gauge I am just about to pull the trigger on.
Ultra Gauge

The main reason I am holding off on the Ultra Gauge is there is talk of making a version that monitors transmission temp. Right now Scan Gauge is the only one that does.
